US Covid cases move by record for second day straight, up more than 120,000

The number of detected cases of coronavirus infection in the world has exceeded 70 million, following data from Johns Hopkins University. The number of infected in the world is 70,025,535, 1,590,323 people died, 45,070,225 recovered.
Leading countries in terms of the number of infected with COVID-19:
- USA - 15 758 661 infected (died 294 056);
- India - 9 796 769 infected (142 186);
- Brazil - 6 781 799 infected (179 765);
- Russia - 2,574,319 infected (45,370);
- France - 2 405 127 infected (57 671).
Earlier in the United States, the death toll from COVID-19 exceeded the country's combat losses in World War II. In the near future, the United States will consider an application from BioNTech and Pfizer for registration of their coronavirus vaccine. The UK has already licensed this vaccine. Vaccination with Sputnik V is in progress in Russia. The government has instructed to provide an opportunity for all willing Russians to get vaccinated against COVID-19 on New Year's holidays.
